The College of Environmental Sciences discusses a master’s thesis focusing on the role of poultry waste in developing the next generation of environmentally friendly fertilizers.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and with the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, the master’s thesis discussion in the Department of Environmental Sciences, entitled “The Role of Poultry Waste in Developing the Next Generation of Superfertilizers for Environmentally Friendly Agriculture,” was held this morning, Sunday, September 7, 2025, in the discussion hall of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. The thesis was presented by Barda Abdul Qader Hussein Ali. The thesis was chaired by Assistant Professor Taha Muhammad Taqi, with the membership of Assistant Professor Ghassan Fathi Muhammad and Assistant Professor Marwa Nizar Abdul Fattah, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Ayman Muhammad Jabr. The study aimed to produce environmentally friendly, agriculturally usable organic fertilizers and contribute to reducing the environmental impact of poultry waste by converting it into sustainable fertilizers that contribute to enhancing food security and environmental conservation. This is achieved by utilizing poultry waste as a rich source of nutrients. The study also achieved seven Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land).
At the end of the discussion, the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Muhammad Taqi, University of Mosul/College of Agriculture and Forestry, and Assistant Professor Ghassan Fathi Muhammad, Northern Technical University/College of Agricultural Technology, in appreciation of their valuable scientific comments and sound guidance.
