The College of Environmental Sciences discusses a master’s thesis focusing on assessing groundwater quality for various uses.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and with the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Walid Saeed, the Master’s thesis discussion in the Department of Environmental Sciences, entitled “Evaluation of Groundwater Quality for Various Uses in Al-Ba’aj District, Nineveh Governorate,” was held this morning, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in the discussion hall of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. The thesis, presented by student Sara Walid Hamid Al-Rawi, was held in the discussion hall of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Iman Abdul-Moneim Al-Jawady, with the membership of Assistant Professor Muhammad Fawzi Omar and Assistant Professor Mayada Ahmed Ibrahim, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Rawaa Mahmoud Daoud.
The research aims to evaluate the physical, chemical, and bacteriological characteristics of (10) groundwater wells in Al-Ba’aj District, Nineveh Governorate, as well as the suitability of these wells’ water for civilian consumption (drinking and irrigation). The study also achieved four Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and Goal 15 (Life on Land). At the conclusion of the discussion, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Walid Saeed, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Fawzi Omar, University of Mosul/Remote Sensing Center, in appreciation of his valuable comments and scientific guidance.
