College of Environmental Sciences

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, and with the attendance and supervision of the Head of the Environmental Technology Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Jumaa Mahmoud, a seminar titled “Water Scarcity: Reality and Solutions” was held in the Environmental Technology Department. The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Farah Khazal Saeed, a lecturer in the Environmental Technology Department at our college.
The seminar included an explanation of the water scarcity crisis as one of the most prominent environmental and economic challenges in the world, focusing on its causes, such as climate change, pollution, and increasing population demand. It reviewed the current water situation in terms of declining surface and groundwater resources and their impact on agriculture, health, and development. It also presented proposed solutions, such as efficient water resource management, the use of modern desalination and recycling technologies, and raising awareness of the importance of rationalization and sustainable use of water.
