College of Environmental Sciences

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and with the follow-up of the Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil, a seminar entitled “Pioneering in Botany” was held in the Department of Environmental Sciences. The seminar was presented by Dr. Faten Khalil Ibrahim, a faculty member in the Department of Environmental Sciences at our college.

The seminar included a discussion on defining scientific pioneering and its importance in developing plant studies. This encompasses transforming plant knowledge and agricultural technologies into projects that serve the goals of sustainable agriculture, such as vertical farming, greenhouses, field monitoring using spectral images captured by drones, and data analysis using artificial intelligence programs. The seminar also highlighted the role of technology incubators in supporting pioneering projects in terms of support, guidance, funding, and marketing.
