College of Environmental Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, the College of Environmental Sciences, in cooperation with the Electronic Computing Center and the Scientific Affairs Department, held a workshop entitled “Activating Faculty and Graduate Student Accounts on the Scopus and Web of Science Platforms Using Official University Emails.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Faten Aziz Al-Ani.

The workshop highlighted that publishing in Scopus and Clarivate/Web of Science databases grants researchers high credibility and wider dissemination of their research, thus enhancing their opportunities for scholarships, academic promotions, and career advancement. It also ensures the quality of published research, as all journals undergo a rigorous peer-review process, making them reliable sources of knowledge. The workshop aimed to familiarize researchers and graduate students with the mechanism for activating their accounts on the aforementioned databases, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to promote scientific publishing using these global platforms. This workshop achieved three Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

In conclusion, Dr. Mohammed Yahya Alawi presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Assistant Professor Dr. Faten Aziz Al-Ani in recognition of her outstanding efforts.
