College of Environmental Sciences

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and with the attendance of the Head of the Department of Environmental Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Jumaa Mahmoud, a seminar entitled “Laser Radiation: Applications and Methods of Protection” was held in the Department of Environmental Technologies. The seminar was presented by Ms. Hamsa Burhan Al-Bazzaz, a faculty member in the Department of Environmental Technologies at our college.

The seminar included an explanation of the nature of laser radiation, the differences between laser radiation and ordinary light, its properties, the components of laser devices, their types, and their uses in the medical, military, industrial, and environmental fields. The seminar also addressed the classification of lasers according to their level of danger and concluded with a discussion of some methods of protection against laser radiation.
