Students from the College of Environmental Sciences participated in the graduation ceremony for Iraqi university students, held by the Holy Abbasid Shrine in the holy city of Karbala. The ceremony, themed “From the Rain of Karbala, Generosity Sprouts,” was a major national and academic event aimed at honoring graduating students and celebrating their academic achievements after a journey of dedicated study and hard work.
The students’ participation underscores the College of Environmental Sciences’ commitment to supporting its students’ presence at scientific and national events, fostering a sense of belonging and social responsibility, and instilling ethical and humanitarian principles that contribute to producing graduates who are scientifically qualified and committed to serving society and the environment.
The ceremony included scientific, cultural, and educational segments that reflected the status of university students and their pivotal role in the path of sustainable development and the building of Iraq. It also highlighted the importance of science and knowledge in the advancement of society, all within a festive atmosphere characterized by excellent organization and a spirit of cooperation between academic institutions and sponsoring entities. This participation is an important opportunity for the college students to learn about different university experiences and exchange experiences with their counterparts from Iraqi universities, which contributes to expanding their scientific horizons and enhancing their academic and national communication. This participation has achieved four Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 4, Goal 8, Goal 16, Goal 17).
