Doctoral Seminar Series in the Department of Chemistry

As part of its commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing the academic capabilities of postgraduate students, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, University of Mosul, organized two doctoral seminars on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, for PhD students specializing in Physical Chemistry, with the participation of a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.

First Seminar:

The first seminar was entitled:

“In Silico Treatment for Prediction of New Anti-Cancer Compounds Derived from Isatin Molecule”

and was presented by PhD student Anfal Raad Mahmoud, specializing in Physical Chemistry, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Rabah Ali Khalil.

Second Seminar:

The second seminar was entitled:

“Ab-initio and Docking Study of the Electronic and Thermodynamic Effects on the Reactivity and pKa Values Measurement”

and was presented by PhD student Aswan Najah Al-Din Eid Hussein, specializing in Physical Chemistry, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Sattar.

Both seminars witnessed active engagement from faculty members and students and featured valuable scientific discussions and exchanges of ideas and expertise, contributing to the development of research skills and the enhancement of the academic performance of postgraduate students.
