Graduate Seminar for Postgraduate Students in the Department of Physics

As part of its efforts to support scientific research and enhance the academic capabilities of postgraduate students, the Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Mosul, held a scientific seminar on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, attended by a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.
The seminar, entitled “Study of the Optical and Structural Properties of Bismuth Oxide Thin Films Deposited on Porous Silicon,” was presented by Master’s student Ahmed Badal Qaso under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulkhaliq Ayoub Sulaiman.
The study focused on the preparation and investigation of the structural and optical properties of bismuth oxide (Bi₂O₃) thin films deposited on porous silicon prepared through the electrochemical etching technique. The films were fabricated using the chemical spray pyrolysis method, with several preparation parameters systematically varied to evaluate their effects on the material properties.
The seminar witnessed active engagement from faculty members and postgraduate students, featuring constructive discussions and an exchange of scientific perspectives and expertise. Such academic activities contribute significantly to the development of research skills and the enhancement of the academic and scientific standards of postgraduate students.
We wish our dear students continued success and academic excellence.
