Painting Therapy Session at the College of Science

When the brush becomes a tool of awareness, and colors transform into an alternative language for expressing what words cannot convey, art emerges as one of the supportive pathways for mental well-being within the university environment.
In this context, the Cultural Unit at the College of Science, in collaboration with the Iqra Cultural Club, concluded its interactive session titled “Psychological Therapy through Painting,” held in the garden of the Department of Geology and Petroleum, with the participation of more than 25 students from various academic disciplines.
The session aimed to provide a safe space for free expression and emotional release, while contributing to enhancing students’ psychological balance by using painting as a therapeutic tool that helps regulate emotions and restore internal harmony.
The program was implemented in cooperation with the artist Mashael Al-Mufti, who provided specialized artistic guidance that helped participants explore their expressive abilities, break psychological barriers, and transform emotions into paintings reflecting their personal experiences.
The organizers ensured the provision of all professional painting materials, creating a suitable environment for creativity—free from distractions—allowing students to fully engage in the artistic experience in both its psychological and aesthetic dimensions.
At the end of the activity, the organizing body expressed its gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this initiative, emphasizing the importance of continuing to organize meaningful cultural and psychological activities that enhance student well-being within the university campus.
