Seminar Sessions for PhD Students in the Department of Chemistry

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing the academic capacities of postgraduate students, the Department of Chemistry – College of Science, University of Mosul, organized two scientific seminar sessions for PhD students on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, with the participation of a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.

First Seminar Session:
The first seminar was titled “Preparation and Characterization of Several Complexes of Divalent Metal Ions with Nitrogen-Containing Heterocyclic Ligands and Investigation of Their Biological Activity.”
It was presented by PhD student Baraa Saleh Mohammed (Inorganic Chemistry), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Elias and Prof. Dr. Salem Jasim Mohammed.

Second Seminar Session:
The second seminar, presented by PhD student Saba Mumtaz Saleh, was titled “Synthesis, Characterization, and Theoretical Study of New Complexes Derived from Heterocyclic Ligands with Transition and Main Group Elements and Evaluation of Their Biological Activity.”
It was supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Farah Tariq Saeed and Assist. Prof. Dr. Hifaa Younis Hussein.

Both sessions witnessed active engagement from faculty members and students, featuring valuable discussions and exchange of scientific insights, which contributed to enhancing research skills and strengthening the academic level of postgraduate students.
