College of Science Enhances Its Readiness to Receive Ministerial Committees Through a Specialized Workshop

Under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and the follow-up of the heads of scientific departments, and as part of its continuous efforts to strengthen quality standards and advance program accreditation requirements, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at the College of Science organized an extensive specialized workshop dedicated to discussing mechanisms for preparing and receiving upcoming ministerial and inspection committees.
The workshop included a detailed presentation delivered by specialists in quality assurance, chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdulhaq Al-Sumaidai, Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division, along with Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Khaz’al, Head of the Laboratory Quality Unit, Lecturer Dr. Yasser Abdulameer, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit, and Lecturer Dr. Muthafar Sadiq, Head of the Performance Evaluation Unit. The sessions highlighted the key adopted standards and mechanisms for their implementation within academic and laboratory environments.
The workshop also featured contributions from Lecturer Dr. Zakaria Abdulwahid and Lecturer Dr. Ibtisam Yahya from the Department of New and Renewable Energies, in order to enhance the exchange of expertise and enrich scientific and applied discussions.
The event witnessed wide participation from laboratory coordinators across the various academic departments, in addition to members of program accreditation committees, reflecting the College’s commitment to unifying efforts and strengthening integration between academic and administrative aspects to achieve the highest levels of institutional readiness.
The workshop focused on logistical and technical preparations for the upcoming laboratory committee visit scheduled for this week, as well as comprehensive readiness for the program accreditation team visit next week. Emphasis was placed on reviewing and auditing documents and files in accordance with approved standards to ensure high-quality compliance and efficiency.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion session, during which participants’ inquiries were addressed and key challenges and solutions were discussed. It was reaffirmed that the College of Science, across all its departments and laboratories, is steadily progressing toward achieving outstanding results in the journey of accreditation and institutional quality assurance.
