The Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, held an expanded meeting with faculty members from the Departments of New and Renewable Energies and Medical Physics, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Rayan Mazen Faisal, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Adel Shareef, and the heads of the scientific departments.

The meeting focused on discussing the requirements of academic accreditation committees and exploring ways to enhance the readiness of the scientific departments to meet quality assurance standards, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision of achieving institutional excellence and advancing academic performance.

The participants also reviewed preparations for the final examinations of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Emphasis was placed on the importance of providing a suitable examination environment that ensures smooth implementation, fairness among students, and the completion of academic curricula according to approved study plans.

During the meeting, the Dean listened to the observations and suggestions of faculty members, reaffirming the College Deanship’s commitment to supporting their scientific and academic efforts. She also encouraged greater engagement in scientific publishing and fulfillment of academic promotion requirements, recognizing their role in enhancing the College’s academic standing and improving the University’s ranking at both national and international levels.

The Dean further noted that these efforts receive direct support from the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, who places great importance on scientific research and academic development and remains committed to supporting faculty members and researchers in their scholarly pursuits.

This meeting forms part of a series of regular gatherings organized by the College Deanship to strengthen communication with academic departments, promote a culture of quality assurance, and provide a motivating academic environment that contributes to achieving institutional excellence and continuous development.
