Faculty Member from the College of Science Delivers a Lecture at a Workshop Hosted by the College of Agriculture and Forestry

As part of the scientific cooperation between the College of Science and the College of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Al-Jubouri, a faculty member in the Department of Biology, College of Science, delivered a scientific lecture during a workshop hosted by the College of Agriculture and Forestry.

The workshop, entitled “Together Towards a Smoke-Free Society: Smoking Cessation Strategies,” was held on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, in Al-Hadbaa Hall, with the attendance of a number of faculty members, staff, and students.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the harmful effects of smoking, promote public health concepts, and enhance understanding of the health risks associated with tobacco use. These objectives are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being and Goal 4: Quality Education.

The workshop also highlighted the importance of supporting community efforts to reduce pollution, improve quality of life, and strengthen partnerships with health and educational institutions in order to maximize positive societal impact. The participation of the College of Science faculty member reflected the spirit of academic integration and the exchange of expertise among the university’s colleges.
