Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the Department of Geology and Petroleum at the College of Science, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, is organizing a training course entitled “Geology and Sustainability.”

The course is part of the Continuing Education activities and aims to achieve the following environmental and developmental objectives:

• Enhancing awareness of the risks of excessive groundwater exploitation
• Supporting food security and achieving sustainable development goals
• Rationalizing water consumption and protecting available water resources

The course will be held from 18 to 22 May 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hamdani Hall.

The course will be delivered by:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Ahed Younis Al-Mallah
• Dr. Rawa Mohammed Hassan
• Dr. Adel Murad Awad

The participation fee for the course is 5,000 IQD.

The Department invites all faculty members, students, and researchers interested in geology and sustainable development to attend and actively participate.
