Registration of Two New Fungal Isolates in the NCBI Database by a Research Team at the College of Science

As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Biology at the College of Science, University of Mosul, a research team successfully registered two fungal isolates in the NCBI database under the supervision of Dr. Maha Akram Al-Rajbo, with the participation of undergraduate students Zahraa Omar Ramzi and Tayba Ismail Jasim as part of their graduation project.

The isolates belong to the species Aspergillus flavus and Cladosporium tenellum. They were isolated from commonly consumed packaged liquid milk in Mosul and identified using molecular techniques.

The genetic sequences were officially deposited in the GenBank database of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) under the identifiers ZaTeMa1 and ZaTeMa2, with accession numbers:

PZ281920
PZ281962

This achievement represents a valuable contribution to the documentation of molecular data and the advancement of research applications, further strengthening the College’s standing in rigorous scientific research.

We extend our best wishes to our students and staff for continued progress and excellence.
