Department of Chemistry Discusses PhD Dissertation of Student Hala Muneer Yahya Othman Al-Shukriji

With the help of God Almighty, the College of Science / Department of Chemistry is scheduled to hold the discussion of the PhD dissertation submitted by the student Hala Muneer Yahya Othman Al-Shukriji, entitled:

“Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Evaluation of Some Bivalent Metal Complexes with Hydrazone Ligands Derived from Certain Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs.”

The dissertation aims to synthesize and characterize new coordination complexes of bivalent metal ions using hydrazone ligands derived from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug compounds. It also investigates their biological and bioactivity evaluation, opening new perspectives in bioinorganic chemistry and in the development of potential pharmaceutical and medical applications of the prepared compounds.

The defense will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, corresponding to 3 June 2026, at the Hall of Prof. Dr. Youssef Abdullah Shihab for discussions in the Department of Chemistry.

The examining committee consists of the following members:

  • Prof. Dr. Maher Abdulrazzaq Mohammed – Chairperson (College of Education for Girls, University of Mosul)
  • Prof. Dr. Nazik Mohammed Aziz – Member (College of Science, University of Sulaimani)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Khansa Shaker Ni’mah Allah – Member (College of Science, University of Mosul)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Farah Tareq Saeed – Member (College of Science, University of Mosul)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Fathi Khalil – Member (College of Science, University of Mosul)
  • Prof. Dr. Shahbaa Ali Ahmed Hassan – Member and Supervisor (College of Science, University of Mosul)

We wish the student continued success and excellence in her distinguished academic journey.
