On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Mosul organized a scientific seminar for a doctoral student in the branch of microbiology, Ahmed Mohammed Suleiman Haji, at ten o’clock in the morning in the Hall of Professor Dr. Qusay Abdul Qadir Chalabi. The student presented his branded seminar: “Detection of antibiotic resistance determinants and the diagnosis accuracy of next generation sequencing in chronic bacterial prostatitis” Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ryan Mazen Faisal Saeed. The seminar dealt with the topic of detecting the determinants of antibiotic resistance and evaluating the accuracy of next generation Sequencing techniques in the diagnosis of chronic bacterial prostatitis, because of the importance of this topic in improving molecular diagnostics and early detection of bacterial factors associated with antibiotic resistance. The organization of this seminar comes within the scientific activity of the Department of life sciences, and its keenness to follow up the stages of completion of graduate students ‘ research, discuss their research topics, and Exchange scientific opinions with the Department’s teachers.
