Joint research achievement of two teachers from the Faculty of Science in two international journals classified within the second quarter Q2

Within the framework of supporting scientific research and enhancing the academic presence of the University of Mosul in international scientific forums, professor Dr. Ammar Hussein Abdullah Al-Sabawi and assistant professor Dr. Khansa Shaker Al-Naama from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, and with the participation of doctoral student Iman Muwaffaq teaching in the Department of medical physics, achieved a joint research achievement represented by the publication of two scientific papers in two international journals classified within the second quarter Q2 in Scopus and Clarivate. The first research dealt with the tagged: “Binuclear metal complexes of triazole–Schiff base ligands: Structural characterization and cellular activity” Preparation and diagnostics of a number of organic lycands and binuclear metal complexes, as well as the study of their structural properties and cellular effectiveness. The research was published in the Journal of the Indian Chemical Society published by the publishing house Elsevier, classified within the second quarter Q2, with a CiteScore of 5.8 and an impact factor of 3.4. The second Research, entitled: “Synthesis, Characterization, Molecular Docking, and Anticancer Activity of Triazole-Derived Trinuclear Metal Complexes (TAT3)” It included the preparation and diagnosis of metal complexes derived from triazole, as well as conducting molecular docking studies and evaluating the biological effectiveness of the prepared compounds. The research was published in the Baghdad Science Journal issued by the University of Baghdad, classified within the second quarter Q2 in the Scopus and Clarivate absorbers, and by CiteScore it reached 3.3 and an impact factor of 1.5. The results of the study showed that the prepared compounds possessed biological efficacy against a number of types of cancer, including lung, bladder and breast cancer, reflecting the importance of using histochemistry and computer methods in exploring compounds with potential biological applications. This achievement comes as a confirmation of the importance of inter-disciplinary research and scientific cooperation, and a contribution to enhancing the research output of the Faculty of Science and consolidating the presence of Mosul University in international scientific databases and repositories. Our wishes to the researchers for more giving, excellence and scientific achievement.
