A ministerial committee evaluates the scientific and academic reality at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul

The Faculty of Science received the ministerial committee assigned by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research to assess the scientific and academic reality of the faculties of Science in Iraqi universities, in order to determine the level of scientific, human and material potential available, and follow up the extent of applying the standards of academic sobriety, quality and accreditation. The ministerial committee included both : Prof. Dr. hawraz Nazim Jabbar-University of Kirkuk / Faculty of science – chairman. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hadi Mardan Ghalib-University of Kirkuk / Faculty of science-member. Assistant professor Dr. Hazem Juma Mahmoud-University of Mosul / Faculty of Environmental Sciences-member. The delegation of the committee was received by the dean of the College of Science, Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, in addition to the dean’s assistants for scientific and administrative affairs and the Quality Assurance Division at the college. A preliminary meeting was held at the Deanship of the college, during which the College reviewed its academic and research achievements, its development plans in updating the curricula and applying the Bologna track, developing laboratories and study programs, as well as the college’s efforts in meeting the requirements of National Classification and academic accreditation. After that, the committee, accompanied by the Deanship of the College, conducted a field inspection tour that included the halls of the college and its scientific departments, during which it reviewed the classrooms, educational and research laboratories, library, graduate study units, student documents and activities, as well as technical and laboratory equipment and supplies, records of teachers, examination and scientific committees, and the extent of their compliance with the controls and instructions approved by the scientific supervision and evaluation apparatus in the ministry. At the end of the visit, the Ministerial Committee expressed its appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Deanship of the Faculty of Science and its teaching and administrative staff in developing the scientific and academic reality, providing a supportive educational and research environment, and keeping up with the requirements of quality and academic accreditation. For her part, the dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, appreciated the efforts of the committee members and their role in the academic and scientific evaluation, stressing the importance of these visits in supporting the process of development, quality and upgrading the level of academic and research performance. At the end of the visit, the Deanship of the Faculty of Science presented letters of thanks and appreciation to the members of the Ministerial Committee, in appreciation of their efforts and participation in the evaluation work and their role in supporting the higher education process and enhancing quality standards and academic accreditation. We wish the Faculty of science continued progress, excellence and success.
