The College of Science Council held its third open session for the 2025-2026 academic year on Sunday, October 19, 2025, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Haiyam Adel Ibrahim, and attended by the Vice Deans, the Heads of Departments, and Dr. Muwaffaq Khalil Hassan, representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate at the College of Science/Nineveh Branch.

The Council discussed several academic and administrative matters, most notably the importance of encouraging high-quality scientific publications and the need to support local journals with research citations. The Council also emphasized the importance of supporting student activities and discussed other items on the agenda.

Furthermore, the Council welcomed and congratulated the newly appointed Head of the Department of Forensic Evidence, Assistant Professor Dr. Haitham Luqman Shihab, and the newly appointed Head of the Department of Earth and Petroleum Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Khalouq Muhammad Sajid, on assuming their respective departmental positions. May our college continue its efforts to perpetuate the brilliance of knowledge and be worthy of disseminating and applying it.
