A college member from our college is a member of a scientific discussion committee at Hawler Medical University – Erbil

Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Ibrahim Sulaiman, a college member in the Department of Biology Sciences, College of Science, participated as a member of the committee that discussed the Master’s thesis of student Helwist Ibrahim Omar at the College of Health Sciences – Department of Medical Microbiology, Hawler Medical University/Erbil.

The thesis was titled:

“Investigating the Correlation Between Biofilm Formation and Antimicrobial Resistance Among Klebsiella pneumoniae Strains Isolated from Intensive Care Unit Patients Using Molecular Techniques in Erbil City.”

The thesis explored the relationship between biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance in Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria isolated from intensive care unit patients, using modern molecular techniques. This topic holds significant scientific and medical importance in the field of bacterial infection control.

The scientific discussion took place on Saturday morning, January 24, 2026, in a scholarly atmosphere characterized by rigorous scientific debate. The examining committee commended the researcher’s efforts and the significance of the findings.

This participation comes within the framework of strengthening scientific and academic cooperation among our national universities, and affirms the active presence of our faculty members in scientific forums both within and outside the province.
