College of Science publishes scientific research in a Q1 international journal

The College of Science at the University of Mosul has achieved a distinguished scientific accomplishment by publishing a research paper in the Journal of Composites Science, which is indexed in Scopus and Clarivate (Q1), and published by MDPI.
The research is titled:
“Efficient Thin-Film CdS-MoS2-rGO Photocathode Composite for Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Evolution Reaction at Neutral pH”
The study presents the development of a photocathode composite consisting of (CdS, MoS₂, and rGO) to enhance hydrogen production using solar energy. The results demonstrated improved light absorption efficiency and accelerated charge transfer, leading to enhanced hydrogen evolution performance compared to conventional systems.
The research was conducted by:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Munir Suhail
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahmood Younis
- Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Fathi Aziz – Department of New and Renewable Energy
This publication represents a valuable addition to the college’s scientific output and a significant step forward in clean energy research and green hydrogen technologies.
