Department of Chemistry to Discuss the PhD Dissertation of Ms. Aswan Najah Al-Din Abd Hussein

With the grace of Almighty Allah, the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, University of Mosul, will hold the PhD dissertation defense of Ms. Aswan Najah Al-Din Abd Hussein for her dissertation entitled:

“An Ab Initio and Molecular Docking Study of Electronic and Thermodynamic Effects in the Calculation of pKa Values”

The dissertation aims to employ ab initio quantum chemical calculations and molecular docking studies to investigate electronic and thermodynamic effects and their application in the accurate determination of acid dissociation constants (pKa) for chemical compounds. The research seeks to contribute to the advancement of theoretical and computational chemistry and its applications in the physical and pharmaceutical sciences.

The dissertation defense will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, 11 June 2026, in Prof. Dr. Yousif Abdullah Shihab Discussion Hall, Department of Chemistry, College of Science.
