Renewed creativity and boundless dedication — the College of Science shines globally and continues its active scientific presence in international academic arenas.

The College of Science continues to strengthen its scientific excellence and international academic standing through the participation of Dr. Miad Salem Younis, a faculty member in the Department of New and Renewable Energy Sciences, in the:

International Conference on Nanomaterials in Sustainable Renewable Energy (ICNSRE-26),

which was held in the United Kingdom on January 27–28, 2026.

During the conference, Dr. Younis presented her research entitled:

“High-Efficiency Organic Solar Cells Using Pulsed Laser Deposition”

The study focused on enhancing the efficiency of organic solar cells through the use of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) nanoparticles as an electron transport layer, employing advanced fabrication techniques that contribute to the development of renewable energy applications and the promotion of sustainability principles.

This participation culminated in a remarkable scientific achievement, as Dr. Younis was awarded the Best Paper Presentation Award in recognition of the originality of her research, the significance of its findings, and the quality of her presentation and academic delivery.

The conference witnessed broad participation from distinguished researchers and academics representing numerous countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Germany, Australia, Japan, Canada, China, India, Argentina, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, providing valuable opportunities for scientific exchange and collaboration in the field of sustainable energy technologies.

This scientific participation was supported and encouraged by the Presidency of the University of Mosul, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, as part of the university’s commitment to fostering international academic engagement and supporting researchers. It was also backed by the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and closely followed by the Head of the Department of New and Renewable Energy Sciences, Assist.
