Department of Geology and Petroleum Organizes a Training Course on Geomagnetic Storms and the Challenges of Navigation and Aviation

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, the Department of Geology and Petroleum at the College of Science is organizing a training course as part of its Continuing Education activities, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, entitled:

“Geomagnetic Storms: Navigation and Aviation Challenges in the Era of Sustainability.”

The course aims to highlight the phenomenon of geomagnetic storms and their diverse physical and geological impacts, while discussing the major challenges and risks facing air and maritime navigation systems as well as communication networks. It will also explore sustainable technological solutions and forecasting mechanisms to mitigate these effects in the context of sustainable development.

  • Venue: Discussion Hall, Department of Geology and Petroleum, College of Science
  • Registration Fee: IQD 5,000

The course will be delivered by:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdulhaq Al-Sumaidaie
  • Lect. Dr. Rana Abdullah Mahmoud

The course is open to all interested participants and specialists.
