Vision
To be a leading English Language Department in education and linguistic and literary research, distinguished in preparing academic graduates with high linguistic and cognitive competencies who contribute effectively to serving society and keeping pace with the demands of the modern world.
Mission
The English Language Department seeks to provide an integrated educational and research environment that enables the graduation of outstanding female students in language, literature, and translation, equipped with the skills required for teaching, research, and community service. The department also aims to develop its academic programs, establish postgraduate studies, and enhance scientific research through the establishment of language laboratories and advanced research centers.
Objectives
1. To prepare graduates with a high level of proficiency in the four English language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
2. To develop analytical and critical thinking skills in the fields of literature and linguistics.
3. To encourage scientific research in language, literature, translation, and their modern applications.
4. To introduce postgraduate programs that align with global academic developments.
5. To establish language laboratories and specialized research centers to support educational and research activities.
6. To strengthen cultural and academic communication with counterpart departments and academic institutions inside and outside Iraq.
7. To contribute to community service through scientific, cultural, and linguistic activities.
