Publication of a New Scientific Research Paper in Electrical Engineering

As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul and its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, a new scientific research paper has been published in the field of Electrical Engineering.

The research was conducted by Dr. Omar Mowafaq Mahmood in collaboration with Master’s student Dalal Baraa Azhar under the title “The Impact of EV Chargers on Voltage Stability by Using ETAP IEEE 30 Bus Standards”.

The paper was published in the Journal Européen des Systèmes Automatisés (JESA), a Scopus-indexed journal ranked in the third quartile (Q3).

The study aims to evaluate the impact of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) on voltage stability in electrical power systems using the IEEE 30-bus test system model through the ETAP software platform. The research highlights the importance of optimal site selection and distribution of charging stations within network sections that possess a higher capacity to accommodate additional loads.

Furthermore, the study identifies weaker nodes within the network to guide future development and rehabilitation efforts, thereby contributing to enhanced efficiency, improved voltage stability, and increased reliability of electrical power system performance. The findings provide valuable insights for the sustainable integration of electric vehicle infrastructure into modern power grids.
