Training Course on 3D Printing at College of Engineering, University of Mosul

As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering and its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure)—Department of Mechatronics Engineering concluded a five-day training course entitled “3D Printing Using Filament and Resin Technologies.” The course was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students.

The course aimed to provide participants with practical training on the operation and use of both filament-based (FDM) and resin-based (SLA/LCD) 3D printers, while introducing the diverse industrial applications of additive manufacturing across various engineering sectors.

The training program covered several key topics, including the applications of 3D printing, the operation of filament-based printers and their associated software, the operation of resin-based printers and their software, as well as practical hands-on sessions designed to enhance participants’ technical skills and strengthen their ability to apply these technologies in a wide range of engineering fields.

The course was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Omar Waleed Marouf, Assistant Lecturer Zaid Iyad Sedeeq, Eng. Dalal Mosaib Mohammed, and Eng. Al-Hakam Faleh Hasan.

The course witnessed active participation and engagement through both theoretical lectures and practical sessions, contributing to the enhancement of participants’ knowledge and technical competencies in the field of 3D printing. It also reinforced the integration of modern technologies into education, scientific research, and engineering applications, in line with the College of Engineering’s vision of fostering innovation and keeping pace with technological advancements.
