As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul and its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a scientific workshop entitled “Classification of Combustible Engineering Materials According to the European Standard EN 13501” on Monday, 19 October 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in department’s Discussion Hall.

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Anas Obaid Idris, Lecturer Noor Al-Din Saleh Khudr, Lecturer Omar Abdulrahman Mohammed, Lecturer Ghaida Ibrahim Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Yusuf Salem Mahmoud.

The workshop addressed the principles of classifying engineering materials in accordance with recognized European standards, highlighting the importance of evaluating their fire resistance properties and enhancing safety requirements in various engineering applications.

This workshop reflects the department’s commitment to strengthening specialized knowledge and developing scientific and practical skills, thereby contributing to improving the quality of engineering education and raising awareness of the importance of applying recognized scientific standards.
