A Brief Overview of the Industrial Advisory Board for Department of Civil Engineering:
Department of Civil Engineering has established an Advisory Board comprising a select group of engineers from various government sectors in Nineveh Governorate. The board consists of six consulting experts from different fields within civil engineering, in addition to faculty members of the department. The board members meet at least once every academic semester to review the program’s educational objectives, assess graduate outcomes, and provide recommendations for curriculum development.
The board holds regular meetings to discuss curriculum revisions and the continuous improvement of the civil engineering program, ensuring alignment with current and future labor market demands. The department places great importance on consulting with the Advisory Board in matters that benefit students, support curriculum development, and refine the technical formulation of the program’s educational objectives. Furthermore, the Civil Engineering Program collaborates with board members to explore potential partnerships with institutions and executive departments (experienced engineers) to transfer practical knowledge to graduates through seminars and workshops, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
