Meeting of Industrial Advisory Board of Department of Civil Engineering

As part of the regular meetings of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Civil Engineering Department, the first meeting for the 2025–2026 academic year was held at the Civil Engineering Department on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Talib Hamid, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Baraa Jabbar Mahmood, and the other members of the Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.
During the meeting, several key topics were discussed, including:
1. Updating the curriculum to better align with labor market requirements and emerging industry needs.
2. Enhancing student learning opportunities by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications and computer-based tools studied throughout the academic program.
3. Providing training and professional development opportunities for students through expanded collaboration between educational institutions and relevant governmental organizations.
The meeting also emphasized the important role of the Industrial Advisory Board in enhancing the quality of the educational process and monitoring the implementation of future academic plans. These efforts contribute to improving the scientific and professional competencies of the department’s students and preparing qualified engineering graduates capable of meeting the demands of sustainable engineering. Furthermore, they support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development.
