Meeting of Industrial Advisory Board of Department of Civil Engineering

As part of the regular meetings of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Civil Engineering ‎Department, the first meeting for the 2025–2026 academic year was held at the Civil ‎Engineering Department on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The meeting was ‎attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman ‎Talib Hamid, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. ‎Baraa Jabbar Mahmood, and the other members of the Engineering Industrial Advisory ‎Board.‎

During the meeting, several key topics were discussed, including:‎

‎1.‎ Updating the curriculum to better align with labor market requirements and ‎emerging industry needs. ‎

‎2.‎ Enhancing student learning opportunities by integrating theoretical knowledge with ‎practical applications and computer-based tools studied throughout the academic ‎program. ‎

‎3.‎ Providing training and professional development opportunities for students through ‎expanded collaboration between educational institutions and relevant governmental ‎organizations. ‎

The meeting also emphasized the important role of the Industrial Advisory Board in ‎enhancing the quality of the educational process and monitoring the implementation of ‎future academic plans. These efforts contribute to improving the scientific and ‎professional competencies of the department’s students and preparing qualified ‎engineering graduates capable of meeting the demands of sustainable engineering. ‎Furthermore, they support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable ‎Development. ‎
