Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences and the guidance of the Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil, the Department of Environmental Sciences, accompanied by several faculty members, organized a field trip for third-year students to the Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Hospital on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with the operational mechanisms within the diagnostic and treatment units and to introduce them to the radiation safety procedures followed in medical facilities.

The visit included a detailed explanation of the equipment used in nuclear medicine, methods for handling radioactive materials, and the role of modern technologies in the early detection of tumors.

This visit reflects the department’s commitment to enhancing the practical skills of its students and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience in specialized healthcare institutions. The visit contributed to achieving four Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3, Goal 4, Goal 9, and Goal 17.
