The University Psychological Counseling Department is holding an awareness seminar entitled “Disciplined Freedom”.
The University Psychological Counseling Division held an awareness-raising and educational seminar entitled “Responsible Freedom: Students’ Awareness of the Ethics and Traditions of Iraqi Society and Avoiding Influence from Foreign Cultures,” presented by Dr. Mohammed Qasim Yahya.
The seminar aimed to define the concept of responsible freedom as the student’s ability to express their opinion and make decisions while adhering to the ethical values and traditions of Iraqi society, and to cultivate conscious thinking that distinguishes between positive openness and negative influence from foreign cultures.
The seminar also emphasized the important role of families and educational institutions in helping students evaluate different ideas and cultures consciously and responsibly, and to choose what aligns with the values and identity of their society.
The seminar’s topic was consistent with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4, “Quality Education,” Goal 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities,” and Goal 16, “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.”
