A workshop titled “Electronic Addiction and Mental Focus” was held by the Software Department.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, the Department of Software Engineering at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics held a workshop entitled:
“Electronic Addiction and Mental Focus” on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in the discussion hall at the College Dean’s office.
Workshop Objectives:
1. To define electronic addiction and its manifestations among youth, especially students.
2. To explain the negative effects of electronic addiction on daily life and general behavior.
3. To analyze the impact of electronic addiction on students’ mental focus.
4. To demonstrate the relationship between electronic addiction, mental distraction, and poor attention.
5. To highlight the causes of lack of focus associated with excessive device use.
6. To explain the psychological effects of electronic addiction, such as anxiety, stress, and isolation.
7. To raise students’ awareness of the importance of moderate technology use for maintaining mental health.
