The College of Computer Science and Mathematics hosts the University of Mosul Chess Championship for students

The College of Computer Science and Mathematics hosted the launch of the University of Mosul Student Chess Championship on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in the college hall and library.
The championship was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sabah Qasim, the championship’s general supervisor; Assistant Professor Dr. Salwan Khalid Mahmoud, Head of the Sports Division/Department of Student Activities; and Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Thaker Salem, Head of the Referees Committee.
At the conclusion of the championship, the winners were honored in the presence of the Dean, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, and Assistant Professor Tawfiq Miqdad Tawfiq, Director of the Department of Student Activities.
This championship is part of the college’s efforts to support student activities, develop students’ intellectual skills, and foster a spirit of positive competition among them, thereby contributing to the development of their mental abilities and establishing a culture of strategic games within the university community.
