The College of Computer Science and Mathematics is holding a scientific seminar on strategies to enhance cybersecurity in Iraq.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics/Department of Cybersecurity held a scientific seminar on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, entitled: “Strategies for Enhancing Cybersecurity in Iraq: Technological Readiness and Qualifying Personnel for the Labor Market.”

The seminar, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Uday Hashim Saeed, Lecturer Dr. Ziad Safaa Younis, and Assistant Lecturer Rahma Nizar Ibrahim, discussed the increasing digital challenges in light of the rapid shift towards electronic services in Iraq. It highlighted the current state of cybersecurity and the importance of developing practical training plans based on simulating real attacks, which would contribute to addressing the shortage of specialized personnel.

The seminar concluded that technology alone is insufficient to confront cyber threats, emphasizing that investing in the qualification of human resources is the cornerstone for protecting Iraq’s digital future and supporting its economic stability.

The College of Computer Science and Mathematics hosts an awareness lecture on public safety and fire prevention.
A training course was held entitled "Fundamentals of First Aid, Dealing with Stress and Psychological Support in Emergency Situations."
