Conducting a continuing education course titled: “The H-index and Its Role in Evaluating a Researcher’s Scientific Output”

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, the College organized a course as part of the Continuing Education series for the 2026–2027 academic year, titled: “The H-index and Its Role in Evaluating a Researcher’s Scientific Output.”
Date: Sunday, October 11, 2026
Course Summary:
The H-index is not merely a numbers game or a count of random research papers; it is a genuine indicator of efficiency that seeks to strike a “sustainable balance” between publication volume and the quality and impact of citations received. True academic success begins with a focus on the quality of research papers and publishing them in elite journals; this ensures they are read and cited by peers in the scientific community, thereby steadily and continuously increasing your H-index and bolstering the global ranking of both your university and your country.
