The College of Computer Science and Mathematics -software department held the fourteenth practical workshop for the academic year 2023 entitled:-
(System evolution and legacy system management)
It was emphasized that the life cycle of software does not end after the product is delivered, but rather that in order for the program to continue for a long-term period, it must be developed within a specific period of time to suit the needs of the market. In addition to performing the maintenance process in order to rid the product of all errors that it may encounter after delivering it to the customer.
To facilitate maintenance of legacy software systems; You can re-engineer these systems to improve their structure, understandability, and perform with better reliability.
Organizations that rely on old systems must choose a strategy to develop these systems by eliminating the system completely, by re-engineering to improve its maintainability, or by replacing the system with a new system.
