Titled (Developing a Security Model for Data Protection in a Cloud Computing Environment)

In continuation of the scientific research movement and the follow-up and presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Duha Bashir Abdel Allah

Discussed in the discussion hall of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Monday 5 – 8 – 2024

Master’s Thesis (Developing a Security Model for Data Protection in a Cloud Computing Environment) For the student (Alaa Jassim Mohamed Al-Azzawi) and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Saja Jassim Mohamed.

  • The thesis submitted by the student dealt with the development of a proposed model for the management of electronic banks, which is based on the implementation of the (Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) algorithm, restricting access based on roles, to achieve reliability and control access to banking data stored in the cloud. The proposed model of the EB-RBAC (Electronic Bank-Role Based Access Control) system is based on assigning roles and defining precisely the powers and responsibilities for each role according to business requirements and job needs, which enhances the restriction and control of access to system data and resources for authorized persons only. In addition, the form includes the application of multi-level authentication agents to verify a user’s identity before granting them access to the system.
  • The study also touched on the use of a multi-factor authentication system that includes Password, OTP code, and Verification by Gmail to ensure that only authorized users access the system and to enhance data security, the RSA algorithm was used to encrypt sensitive data, and encrypt the user’s password using the PBKDF2 SHA256 algorithm, which ensures the confidentiality of data even in the event of a leak or breach.
  • The study aims to achieve reliability at multiple levels and factors during the management of electronic banks through an advanced security model to protect financial operations and user data in cloud computing environments, through the implementation of the RBAC algorithm, and explore encryption solutions and multi-level verification techniques to enhance the safety and security of data.
