doctoral thesis of student Manar Abdulkarim Zeidan

Discussion of a doctoral thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science, entitled:
“Competent Enhancement and Restoration for MR Images Using Multi Adapted Concepts”
The doctoral thesis of student Manar Abdulkarim Zeidan, supervised by Assist.Prof.Dr. Zuhair Qais Al-Amin, was discussed in the discussion hall of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Thursday, 24/7/2025.
This thesis addressed the problem of magnetic resonance image degradation (loss of contrast, noise, and poor detail sharpness).
It examined several concepts for the purpose of enhancing and restoring magnetic resonance images, identifying the advantages and disadvantages of each, with the aim of developing and adapting them effectively to address deterioration in MRI images.
This study aims to develop efficient methods for addressing artifacts that can appear in MRI images due to equipment malfunctions, patient movement, low signal levels during imaging, and unavoidable sensor problems. These artifacts reduce image clarity and thus affect the accuracy of medical diagnosis. Therefore, proper and effective treatment of such artifacts is essential, given the importance of medical information in MRI images.
The discussion committee consisted of:
