Master’s thesis of student ‘Sanabel Diaa Al-Din Abdullah’

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science titled: Monitoring and Conservation of the Heritage Buildings using IoT and Cloud Technologies. the Master’s thesis of student ‘Sanabel Diaa Al-Din Abdullah’ was discussed in the discussion hall of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul on Wednesday, dated 3/9/2025, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Rawa Botros Bols and Assistant Professor Dr. Oday Qusay Abdulqadir.
The message addressed the design and implementation of an intelligent system based on the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, with the aim of monitoring heritage buildings in Mosul and protecting them from environmental and structural risks. The study discussed the damage to heritage buildings in Mosul and the weaknesses of traditional monitoring methods, highlighting the need for more advanced solutions. It proposed an intelligent system reliant on the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and machine learning algorithms to monitor temperature, humidity, and vibration, as well as to analyze data to protect these buildings. The study aims to explore and employ modern technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence to build a sustainable infrastructure for long-term monitoring of heritage buildings, demonstrating how data-driven solutions can contribute to preserving heritage sites.
