The College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul has achieved a distinguished scientific accomplishment, with its departments ranking highly in the 2025 Iraqi University Rankings (IRU), announced by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and overseen by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority/Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation.

This achievement is attributed to the support of the University of Mosul’s President, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the direct supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz. It also reflects the outstanding efforts of the heads of the academic departments, faculty members, administrative staff, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Halima, Director of Quality Assurance, and the members of the College’s Quality Assurance Unit.

The ranking results confirm the College’s strong academic standing, with its departments achieving first place among their counterparts in Iraqi universities, as follows:

– Department of Computer Science: First place among Computer Science departments.

– Department of Software Engineering: First place among Software Engineering departments.

– Department of Mathematics: First place among Mathematics departments. – Department of Statistics and Informatics: Ranked first among statistics departments.

– Department of Operations Research and Intelligent Technologies: Ranked first among operations research departments.
