Sumner’s presentation was titled “Types of Eccentric Values in Data”.

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics/Department of Statistics and Informatics held a seminar entitled “Types of Outliers in Data,” presented by Professor Dr. Bashar Abdul Aziz Al-Talib.
The seminar aimed to identify and differentiate between:
1. Extreme Values
2. Influential Observations
3. Outliers
4. Leverage Points (values that pull the model in their direction), which include:
• Good Leverage Points
• Bad Leverage Points. Real-world examples of these values were also presented, supported by graphs and applications using the R software.
