Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics Leads a Voluntary Tree-Planting Campaign to Promote Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility
Under the supervision and active field participation of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, the College at the University of Mosul has organized a voluntary tree-planting campaign to mark National Tree-Planting Day.
Recognizing the importance of embedding environmental awareness within the campus, and with the coordination of the Tree-Planting Committee in collaboration with engineers from the Agricultural Division, the Dean led the participants in planting various saplings and perennial trees—setting a vivid example of hands-on leadership and support for volunteerism.
During the campaign, the Dean emphasized that this initiative is more than just a celebration of a national occasion; it is an integral part of the College’s vision to make sustainability and environmental action a continuous, daily practice. She underscored the importance of collective effort from both staff and students to enhance the campus environment, transforming it into an attractive and exemplary space.
This campaign aligns with the strategic plans of both the College and the University of Mosul, which aim to expand green spaces, mitigate emissions and negative environmental impacts, and foster a healthy, sustainable educational environment.
