Department of Mathematics Organizes Awareness Activity on the Importance of Afforestation and Sustainable Development
As part of the national afforestation campaign, the Department of Mathematics at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Mosul, organized an awareness activity aimed at fostering environmental consciousness among students.
The activity included the distribution of informational brochures and stickers, the display of educational posters, and the delivery of lectures highlighting the importance of afforestation—covering its environmental and health benefits, as well as its role in preserving green spaces.
Furthermore, the initiative underscored the link between afforestation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically Goals 4, 11, 13, and 15—reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and social responsibility.
This activity is part of the Department of Mathematics’ ongoing efforts to support environmental initiatives and contribute to building a greener, more sustainable university campus.
