A Training Course at College of Engineering Entitled “Fundamentals of Wind Turbine Design and Analysis Using ANSYS Fluent”

As part of College of Engineering’s efforts at University of Mosul to enhance scientific and practical skills and keep pace with recent developments in renewable energy and engineering simulation, Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a training course entitled “Fundamentals of Wind Turbine Design and Analysis Using ANSYS Fluent.” The course was held from 18 to 22 October 2026, with the participation of a distinguished group of specialized academic staff.
The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ata Allah Hussein Jassim, Assistant Professor Maan Saad Al-Din Mohammed Saleh, Lecturer Yasser Shukr Mahmoud, Lecturer Qais Hazim Ismail, Lecturer Noor Al-Din Saleh Khudr, and Lecturer Dr. Ali Azzam Mohammed from the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering.
The course aimed to introduce participants to the scientific and engineering fundamentals of wind turbine design and performance analysis. It also highlighted the basic principles to be considered when conducting numerical simulations using ANSYS Fluent, contributing to a better understanding of airflow behavior around wind turbines, evaluating their performance, and enhancing participants’ scientific and practical capabilities in applying modern engineering technologies to renewable energy.
This course aligns with the university’s strategic direction toward developing research and practical skills and supporting innovation in the field of sustainable energy.
