The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Environmental Sciences is holding an awareness campaign entitled “Combating Violence Against Women”.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and as part of the College of Environmental Sciences’ efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5: Gender Equality and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, the Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Environmental Sciences, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Mosul, launched its awareness campaign entitled “Combating Violence Against Women” as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The campaign included the design and production of awareness brochures about the phenomenon of violence against women, within the framework of promoting awareness to combat violence against women.

It is worth noting that this activity was implemented in accordance with the third axis (Protecting Women and Confronting the Violence They Face), which is one of the axes of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women, and in accordance with the directives of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
