College of Environmental Sciences

Under the direct guidance of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and the supervision of the Head of the Environmental Health Department, Mr. Mohammed Yahya Alawi, and as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ practical skills, second-year students, accompanied by a select group of faculty members, conducted a field visit to the Electronic Computing Center.

During the visit, the students learned about the center’s technological infrastructure and the systems it employs to provide its electronic services. These systems included database management, network administration, various types of servers, and the mechanisms used to protect them and ensure service continuity.

The students also viewed examples of the equipment used at the center, such as storage units, network equipment, and monitoring and control systems.

The visit contributed to strengthening the students’ understanding of modern technologies used in data and network management, bridging the gap between theory and practice within an advanced technological work environment. The visit also aimed to support three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 9, and 17).
