The College of Education for Women – University of Mosul Announces the Establishment of the English Language Department for the Academic Year 2025–2026

The Dean’s Office of the College of Education for Women at the University of Mosul is pleased to announce the issuance of the ministerial decree approving the establishment of the Department of English Language for the academic year 2025–2026. This new addition enhances the academic and scientific framework of the college and contributes a specialized field of study that addresses the needs of a broad segment of students.

This achievement is the result of dedicated and coordinated efforts, led by Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Abdulrahim Jasem, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Shatha Hazem Korkis, Dean of the College, who built upon the foundational work of the former Dean Prof. Dr. Dhamyaa Ali Abdullah. The accomplishment also reflects the commitment of the college’s scientific and academic committees, which ensured that all academic, scientific, and logistical requirements were fully met.

With this decision, the total number of departments within the college now stands at six (6), namely:

  1. Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education

  2. Department of Arabic Language

  3. Department of Chemistry

  4. Department of Biology

  5. Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

  6. Department of English Language (newly established)

The establishment of this department reflects the college’s strategic vision for thoughtful academic expansion and its commitment to offering modern disciplines that align with labor market demands and students’ aspirations.
